This coat appears in other photos on a much older man. Notice the woman lying on the ground behind this man, and the woodsplint detritus from basketmaking. The original photograph is pasted onto a board with two others, and the caption "Indian Basket Makers and Their Chief on the Reservation." The other two photographs, however, were taken by A. W. Mitchell, and this one does not appear in the collection of Mitchell's glass negatives, part of the Heritage Foundation of P.E.I. Collection which has only recently been taken over by the Prince Edward Island Public Archives and Records Office.
