English White Salt-glazed Stoneware Plates

Moulded English White Salt-glazed Stoneware By 1740, English white salt-glazed stoneware was produced in moulds allowing objects to be cast in relief in an array of patterns. White fine stoneware plates with elaborate moulded rim patterns were produced during the period circa 1740-1770. Several popular rim patterns were found at Central Trust which include "barley and basket", "bead and reel", "dot and diaper" and "barley". Other plates recovered had plain, folded, scalloped or octagonal rims.
