The
body of this glass is decorated with moulded diamonds;
an engraved pattern decorates the rim. It is one of an
abundance of artifacts, some military and many expensive,
even frivolous, found by archaeologists at the Acker site
in Birchtown.
It, and other clothing-related artifacts found at the
site, reflect a person who had not only a sense of style
and fashion but the means to show it. The items suggest
that the house may have belonged to Stephen and Margaret
Blucke. She had some money and he had status in the military. |
