style of rib-framed maple basket has been made by the descendants
of women who came to Nova Scotia during the War of 1812.
Passed on from mother to daughter, Clara Clayton Gough of East
Preston learned this craft from her mother, the late Edith Drummond
Clayton (1920 - 1989) of Cherry Brook, Nova Scotia.
