At anchor near Port Mouton, NS

Good Evening all,

It was a wild and zany day aboard Bluenose II today. One of our crew turned twenty yesterday and decided she wanted a jungle-theme birthday party. (we had a pirate party earlier in the year) anyway out came the face painting kit and before I could say anything almost the entire ships company had some sort of face painting done. I being the curmudgeon captain did not play along, only a few others escaped becoming a member of the Orca Tribe. Our birthday girl was very happy at the end of the day as in fact is the whole crew. We saw whales and dolphins today, saw a beautiful sunset and a better moonrise.

I have wanted to see Port Mouton for several years now and we are very lucky to have the few extra hours in our schedule that we can stop overnight and see things in the morning. The forecast is for NE winds which will be on the nose but only for twenty miles of the planned passage, so the trip should not be that bad.

The crew are primed for a swim call tomorrow morning. I'm not so sure myself but they are bound and determined to go. Good for them, as long as the first one in doesn't scream too loudly I'm sure the rest will follow!

That's all for tonight, see you tomorrow at 1600!!

Best Regards,

Phil Watson
