Mahone Bay Harbour

Good Evening,

Well it was yet another perfect day here in Mahone Bay. The Classic Boat Festival was hoping again today. The fast and furious boat challenge race was today as well as a concert by blues singer Morgan Davis. Mr Davis, is a transplanted talent who writes great blues about local life. Including songs like, "The Lights of Chester", "Hello Nova Scotia" and of course, "I've got the Bluenose on my License Plate". Check out his album, "At Home in Nova Scotia", good music with a subtle sense of humour that shows an understanding of life here.

We're off tomorrow morning for Lunenburg. We've some cleaning to do first, including getting the dress lights and flags down, recovering the dories and moving from anchor mode to sail mode. The crew are still new at this large ship sailing thing and sometimes have difficulty changing gears. I'm sure the mates will chase them around as necessary. I'm studying the chart so if the fog continues to roll in I will be comfortable finding our way out into deep and open water. Mahone Bay can be tricky to navigate, on our way in to anchor there were two or three yachts on the rocks calling for a tow from the local inshore rescue crew. As the saying goes, "There but for the grace of God, go I."

That's all for now,

Best regards,
Phil Watson
