In the aftermath of the sinking of RMS Titanic, just over three hundred bodies were recovered from the icy waters of the North Atlantic, the majority by two cable ships sent out from Halifax. 209 of those bodies were brought to the city for identification and today, 150 victims of the maiden for voyage of that great ship have final rest in three Halifax cemeteries.
