Join us for a free, community celebration at the Maritime Museum this weekend as part of winning the Ships Start Here shipbuilding contract. Enjoy the history of our shipbuilding heritage by exploring our galleries and partake in our Christmas at Sea kick-off party! A range of family events will be held over the weekend including the building of LEGO: Christmas at Sea. Today, visitors from 1:30 pm until 4:00 pm can enjoy in the Program Room a fun activity to celebrate Ships Start Here. Make tiny wooden ships with paper and wood at our toy boat workshops (quantities and spaces are limited). In the Small Craft Gallery: 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm - traditional paper decorations; 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm - nautical tree decorations; 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm - Holiday music with recording artist Rosalee Peppard; 4:00 pm - 4:45 pm - Special performance by the Elastic Millennium Choir, including Euroclydon, An Anthem for Mariners by William Billings. Food and drink until 4:00 pm. Donations to Feed Nova Scotia and our Mission to Seafarers campaign will be welcomed.
