Specimen Preparation LaboratoryThe Fundy Geological Museum has a fully functional specimen preparation laboratory.  It is equipped with tools used in the preparation of fossil and mineral specimens. Visitors to our site can view the work being carried out on local dinosaur fossils through a window located in the exhibit gallery.  A video camera and monitor enable visitors to view some of the finer preparation being carried out.  This living exhibit provides a “behind the scenes” glimpse of the activities involved in the preparation of specimens for research and exhibition. A portion of the laboratory is equipped with lapidary tools, including rock saws, grinders and tumblers, reflecting the Parrsboro region’s long standing reputation amongst rock hounds as a source of agate, amethyst and zeolites.
