Eldon George

Eldon George

Eldon George, proprietor of the Parrsboro Rock and Mineral Shop and Museum, found his first fossil (amphibian tracks) when he was nine years old. That first discovery has lead to a lifetime of collecting fossils, rocks, and minerals.

On April 10, 1984, Eldon unearthed trackways of the world's smallest dinosaur at Wassons Bluff. The tracks, most likely made by Coelophysis sp., brought world-wide attention to the Parrsboro area. The trackways are now on display at Eldon's shop, along with other significant finds he has made from Parrsboro and the surrounding area. Although Eldon considers the dinosaur tracks one of the highlights of his collecting career, he still keeps a sharp eye for new finds!
