We’re the Sage Voices Society -- a group of older Cape Breton women leaders who mentor younger leaders -- and with our partners at the Highland Village Museum in Iona, we’re very excited about a leadership training and mentoring opportunity we’re holding during the last weekened of August!

We are seeking young women who have shown some leadership potential already, and who want to live their adult lives on Cape Breton Island, to participate in this Friday- afternoon-through-Monday-lunch, unique experience. Each successful applicant will also receive post-workshop mentoring during a volunteer experience she creates with a community organization to further stretch her leadership muscles. We are fortunate to have financial support -- and project interest -- from two of our regional development agencies, Cape Breton County Economic Development Authority (CBCEDA) and Strait-Highlands Economic Development Authority, as well as the County of Victoria.

Do you know a young Cape Breton woman who you think would be ideal to participate in this experience? Are you such a young woman? Either way, we encourage you to complete the application and return by mail or email to:
