Owned in 1889 George R. Batson of Campobello, New Brunswick.

Story

From The Acadian newspaper, Wolfville, NS Friday April 26, 1889: "A MARINE MISHAP - The schnr. SPARKLING BILLOW Capt. L.R. Morris, left this port on Tuesday evening in ballast for Cornwallis and missed her course ran upon the flats on the north side of the Cornwallis River, tipped over and split in two from stem to stern, and now lies a wreck just north of this village. She has been stripped of sails and rigging and abandoned. She was built in 1860 in Edgecomb, Maine and registered in St. Andrews, NB 25 tons burden." Article located by researcher Leon Barron.
