Description

Originally owned by William Thomson Co.

Story

After a long career as a trading vessel, WILDWOOD was purchased by the J. B. King Co., converted to a barge and used to haul gypsum between the Avon River area and New York. After being laid up beside PLYMOUTH, HAMBURG and ONTARIO in the 1920s all the vessels were intentionally burnt in April of 1936. Portions of her lower hull remain in the mud at Summerville.
