Ssssnack Time
Saturdays, 10am-11 am
Nature CentreIt’s feeding time. See a live snake, frog or turtle
“chow down” its lunch.
Learn what each animal eats and how it finds or hunts its food in the
wild.
Tales of Time
Saturdays & Sundays, 3:30-4 pm
Listen to Nova Scotian tales linking people, places and wildlife. Learn
how landscapes shape and impact our lives.
Blue Bells & Cockle Shells
Saturdays 3pm-5 pm
Do you have an animal, plant, insect or fossil that you would like to
learn more about? A Museum Naturalist will lend a hand. *Sorry, but we
are unable to work with rock, mineral or mushroom specimens.
Being Caribou (NFB Film) 
Duration; 72 minutes
Month of May: Sundays at 2 pm and Wednesdays 6:45 pm
Join Leanne Allison (filmmaker) and Karsten Heuer (wildlife biologist)
on their epic 1,500-km-long trip on foot with the Porcupine Caribou herd
from the Yukon to Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. This five-month
journey with this endangered herd was made to better understand North
America’s great mammal migration —before it is too late!

Connect your family to nature through hands-on activities and conversations
with a Museum Naturalist. Each discovery cart offers a drop-in interactive
experience highlighting natural history and environmental themes.
May-June
The Birds & the Bees cart
Saturday and Sunday
1pm-2 pm
Through a variety of fun hands-on activities, investigate the process
of pollination, meet essential bird & insect pollinators. You’ll
also uncover ways to protect the diversity of both plants and animals.
