T5.2 Nova Scotia's Climate

Nova Scotia has a modified continental climate, with proximity to the coast and elevation determining local variation in climate. The coastal influence is the major one in Nova Scotia, since the relief is not extreme, and only the Cobequid Hills and the Cape Breton Highlands have elevations over 350 m. Nova Scotia can be divided into nine broad climatic regions which provide an overview of the variety of climatic conditions found in the province.
