Windsor Group rocks, including gypsum, are preserved in downfaulted sections now occupied by the Margaree River and the Inverness Coastal Plain (Unit 551). Horton conglomerate and sandstone compose the deeply dissected Margaree Plateau (Unit 591) and the St. Lawrence Slopes (Unit 592), which form a shoulder to the Plateau-Fir Forest (District 210). These slopes are the soft rock equivalent of the hard rock of the Steep Slopes (District 220). | |
