Salpinctes obsoletus (Say)

Status One record. On 4 October 1980 on Seal Island an individual was found by John Kearney and Nancy Blair. It was subsequently seen by others and photographed by Bruce Mactavish.

Remarks This large, grayish wren of semiarid regions of western North America has strayed to Massachusetts but has been found nowhere else in Canada east of southern Ontario.
