These
coprolites, made by an Ice Age mammal, were found in the United
States. Since there are Ice Age rocks in Eastern Canada, there
could be similar coprolites discovered here. Perhaps you'll
be the person to recognize them.
Coprolites (a special name for fossil dung) tell us a great
deal about our ancient world. We can learn what the animal was
eating and whether or not the animal was a carnivore or an herbivore.
This helps us to reconstruct the food web by beginning to unravel
who ate who or who ate what. |
