These
are the smallest footprints of a dinosaur ever found in the
world. Coelophysis was a carnivore that walked on two feet and
grew to a height of 2 metres (a little taller than a human adult)
and up to 3 metres in length. Even though they were small, they
were very fierce. Coelophysis hunted in packs and may have eaten
their own young babies (ugh).
We know that the dinosaur that made these tracks was a baby
because the foot prints are so small relative to the bones of
the dinosaur found in the same area. We can also tell it was
small by measuring the distance between each foot print.
