School programs at the Museum of Industry are designed with the needs of teachers and students in mind. Each program supports curriculum outcomes identified for specific grades and units of study by the Nova Scotia Department of Education.
At the Museum, students have a unique opportunity to learn from real things: investigating how waterpower works, examining everyday objects from the past, or getting up-close and personal with significant artifacts like the Samson, one of the world’s oldest locomotives. Our school programs encourage children to ask questions and discover answers about how their world and their community work, and learning something about themselves in the process.
