Treat
yourself to a visit to the Museum
of Industry's Gift Shop and take a look at the wonderful selection
of items available. You will find many ideas for that special birthday,
anniversary or graduation.
The
Museum Shop boasts a wide variety of books with a strong local flavor,
including such titles as “The Birthplace of New Scotland”
by Judith Hoegg Ryan, "IN THE PIT- A Cape Breton Coal Miner"
by Rennie Mackenzie, and “Hook Me A Story - The History and
Method of Rug Hooking in Atlantic Canada" by Deanne Fitzpatrick,
as well as a wonderful selection of Nova Scotia Museum publications.
Also, an excellent selection of educational titles for children
are available.
Our
music collection will keep your feet tapping to the rhythms of the
Maritimes from the traditional fiddle music of Natalie MacMaster
to
the vocals of Rita MacNeil. We have toys for all ages, including
a great selection of Thomas the Tank Engine favorites, easy to assemble
models, and many puzzles. Examine our range of clothing, gift ware
(including local pewter), and hand-crafted coal sculptures. Our
beeswax and taper candles, and our selection of old fashioned confections
are not to be missed. In addition, you'll find our famous horse
and moose tire swings, made in Nova Scotia from 100% recycled tires,
perfect for the young and the young at heart.
There is no admission charged to visit
our shop, so come by and take a look at the wonderful array of items
available. There's something for everyone at the Museum Shop!
