A great place to learn, interact with others and experience history. Perkins House Museum offers a variety of programs and events throughout the year.

Daily Program
10am-3pm (weather permitting)
Lawn Bowls, an early form of lawn bowling, and Pall Mall, similar to croquet, were favourite outdoor activities in the 1700s. Join interpreters for a game, or organize your own tournament. Perkins House grounds. Cost: Free. Note: The museum grounds are environmentally friendly. Neither pesticides nor herbicides are used on our lawns or gardens.

Hear our “sheepish” puppet tell her tale about the Perkins House kids. Enjoy a guided tour of diarist Simeon Perkins’ House and a wooly craft.

Get a bird’s eye view of the privateer’s life! Follow the adventures of Captain Jack Seagull, of Perkins’ own fleet through story, illustration and puppetry. Then, enjoy a craft.
Thursdays Program

Imagine the world of a pirate. Where did they hide all the treasure? Did pirates really make their victims walk the plank? What was life really like aboard a ship? Create your own pirate identity, flag and treasure maps. Learn about pirate duties and have fun with puzzles and games.
Saturdays Program
10:30am & 2:30pm
Discover children’s roles in the household, including playtime, chores and social life through an interactive program. Have fun with a hands-on activity using toys and games from the Colonial and Victorian period.
Pre-booking is recommended for guided tours. Programs are approximately 1 1/2 hours in duration and can be adapted to any age group. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Discover changes in the streetscape of the town in a walking tour of Liverpool. Using old photographs and exploration, students will compare and contrast life in Liverpool, past and present. This tour will be tailored to ages in the group.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
$5 per person.
A costumed interpreter will lead visitors through Liverpool’s Old Burial Ground. Using excerpts from the Perkins Diary, you will discover the burial practices of Colonial times. Why are some bodies buried in the middle of busy streets? Did you know children acted as pall bearers?
Hear the tragic stories of some of Liverpool’s founding families.
$10 per person.
