Do canons qualify as lawn decorations? On our tour of historic Sydney, we discovered the funky meaning behind this cannon. First, imagine this street corner without sidewalks. The canon was placed on the corner of the lawn to prevent horses from cutting corners and damaging the property. Timber was often used for the same purpose, but the canon was more durable and easily available at the time!
