This rare artifact, a piano player, was developed so everyone could play the piano. Curator Eric Ruff explains to Garry and Peter that the machine is operated by rolling the piano player up to the piano keys, and pushing the pedals to activate keys to replay notes on the music roll . The tune being played here is quite funky - Garry Sowerby powers the pedal to create sounds by Scot Joplin, an early jazz pianist.
