Lisa Calvi, Funk Coordinator, waves goodbye before heading out for adventure on the last day of the Funky Museum Roadshow event. The Ship's Railway Cottage was once home to the chief engineer of the Ship's Railway. Are you wondering about the "Ship's Railway"? The funky story is that a railway short-cut was constructed across Nova Scotia to lessen the time to ship goods that sailed from the Bay of Fundy, around the province, to the Northumberland Strait. Unfortunately, the project was 90% complet and docks were under construction when the Ship's Railway Company ran out of funding. As a result, ships never crossed the province by rails, which are now part of the recreational TransCanada Trail!
