2013 Courthouse Concert Series

Note: These events are subject to change.

COURTHOUSE CONCERT SERIES – Concerts are held Thursday evenings from July 4 to August 15 and October 3. Concerts will be held on Fridays, from August 23 to September 27 offering music from a variety of genres. All concerts start at 7:30 pm, tickets $10 at the door.

Monday, July 1 to Thursday July 4

 ROAD TO STANFEST SONGWRITERS’ CAMP – Improve your abilities in the art, technique & craft of songwriting! Come to the shores of the beautiful St. Mary’s River for a songwriting experience. There will be sing-a-longs, songwriters’ circles at the Courthouse each evening at 7:30 and campfires by the river. This is a great opportunity to work with and learn from talented, well known songwriters. Students will have the chance to compete for a special performance spot at the Stan Rogers Folk Festival. COURTHOUSE CONCERT – Mother/Daughter Night with Lisa Hallett and Amy Gaudry, 7:30 pm, tickets $10 at the door.

COURTHOUSE CONCERT – Ardyth & Jennifer are wonderful story tellers with a unique sound that explores the many possibilities of the folk harp. Their stage presentations are moving, lively journeys- come join them in their travels, 7:30 pm, tickets $10 at the door.

.SUNDAY GOSPEL MUSIC AND STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE – Join us for the sweet sounds of gospel music at St. James Church in Sherbrooke Village and top it off with the sweet flavor of homemade strawberry shortcake. Beginning at 1:00 pm.

Thursday, August 1

COURTHOUSE CONCERT – Featuring Hal Bruce, ever since Hal Bruce witnessed the North American birth of The Beatles in February 1964, his musical influence was molded permanently. Since then, he has studied every song ever recorded by his heroes, from the instrumental parts to their unique vocal styling. His unique Beatles Tribute has netted invitations to various international events, 7:30 pm, tickets $10 at the door.

COURTHOUSE CONCERT – Join Dave Kaiser & Rod McMullen with their lively mix of country, gospel and bluegrass, 7:30pm, tickets $10 at the door.

Thursday, August 15

COURTHOUSE CONCERT – An evening with Blain Henshaw featuring original works plus the best of Gordon Lightfoot, Ian Tyson, Gene MacLennan and more, admission $10 at the door.

Friday, August 23

COURTHOUSE CONCERT - This will be the kick-off concert for our fifth annual Rally That Gives, weekend featuring “The Friday Night Blues Bash”, 7:30 pm, tickets $10.00 at the door.

Friday, August 30

COURTHOUSE CONCERT – Cape Breton born vocalist, Sam Moon has been performing for over 30 years and has shared the stage with; ZZ Top, The Guess Who, The Doobie Brothers, Sash Jordan, The Band, The Atlantic Rhythm Section, Delbert Maclinton and The Beach Boys. Sam has just released a new album "New Moon” and has received numerous awards including; Entertainer Of  The Year, Shure Mike Award and was the 1st Maritime Artist to break the TOP 20. 7:30pm, tickets $10 at the door.

COURTHOUSE CONCERT – This will be the kick-off concert for the 19th annual Show & Shine antique car show featuring the music of Danny Kirk & Friends. 7:30 pm, admission $10 at the door.

COURTHOUSE CONCERT – Join us for a concert with the beautiful melodic sounds of Ann Fearon, 7:30 pm, tickets $10 at the door.

Friday, September 20

COURTHOUSE CONCERT – Featuring Irish singer Fran Doyle 7:30 pm, tickets $10 at the door.

Friday, September 27

COURTHOUSE CONCERT - This will be our annual Sherbrooke Shares concert in aid of the St. Mary’s Food Bank 7:30 pm, tickets $10 at the door.

Thursday, October 3

TENTH ANNUAL ROAD TO CELTIC COLOURS CEILIDH AT THE COURTHOUSE – Once again the Road to the Isles runs through Sherbrooke. This pre-festival event will allow visitors to get a head start on the music and magic that is Celtic Colours, featuring the Grady Family. Join Terry and his children; Taylor, Brooke, Jessie, Cole & Jake playing a wide range of instruments and performing traditional Cape Breton fiddle sets with step dancing, east coast music, folk, country, alternative and a few of their own original songs, 7:30 pm, tickets $10 at the door. 7:30 pm, tickets $10 at the door.
