United Church of Canada

At Church Union, a majority of members decided to continue as Presbyterians, and those who went to the United Church of Canada erected a new church, St. John's, close to the bridge, which was dedicated on November 13th, 1927.

In the 1911 census, the following religious affiliations were given for Sherbrooke: 117 Anglican, 23 Baptists, 3 Methodists, 555 Presbyterians, and 53 Roman Catholics.
