We Have a Winner!!!

Thanks to ExxonMobil and the "ExxonMobil Hands on Heritage Awards," students from Inverness Education Centre/Academy will get to spend three days dressed in period costume and experiencing hands-on activities such as churning butter, woodworking and making pottery in the fall of 2007.
The winning school was selected by Joe MacDonald, Onshore Operations Supervisor for ExxonMobil Canada. ExxonMobil sponsors the Hands on Heritage Award, which is worth $4,000 per year.
"We are pleased to provide this support, which helps ensure that schools in our region have access to the heritage and educational experiences offered by Sherbrooke Village," said Mr. MacDonald.
The award program was developed by the Historic Sherbrooke Village Development Society to provide students from schools within the Strait Regional School Board the opportunity to participate in the live-in part of the Hands on History program, which supports curriculum objectives in grades 4, 5 and 6.
