Shelburne, Nova Scotia - Lighthouse Route |
This authentic harbour-side dory factory sets the scene to experience the famous Grand Banks fishery, 1880 to 1971. Built by John Williams in 1880, it was one of seven booming businesses in Shelburne that produced hundreds of dories every year for Canadian and American fishing schooners.
The Dory Shop is an attraction for visitors with interests in boat building, Nova Scotia industry, traditional tools and building techniques.
