Windsor, Nova Scotia - Evangeline Trail

Once the home of Judge Thomas Chandler Haliburton, a legislator, lawyer, historian, and writer of the "Sam Slick" stories, this elegant wooden villa retains a sense of Haliburton's era, including some of his possessions. Built in 1836, the house has been changed over time and currently includes furnishings reminiscent of upper-class life in Windsor in Victorian times.

Young visitors can enjoy games Haliburton's children might have played in the convenient children's activity room.

Enjoy the scenic grounds and municipal walking trails that take you from Haliburton House to the bottom of Ferry Hill to nearby Shand House Museum.
