Perkins House

Liverpool, Nova Scotia - Lighthouse Route

Step into a Nova Scotian home of the late 1700s. Built for Simeon Perkins, merchant, judge and Member of the Assembly, it is the oldest house in the Nova Scotia Museum family of 27 sites. Simeon Perkins is best known for the diary he kept from 1760 until his death in 1812, providing a rare glimpse into Liverpool life in colonial times. See the unusual architecture of his house, and amongst typical furnishings, discover family and community life in historic Liverpool.

This site features New England style architecture, pre-Loyalist culture and colonial lifestyle, privateering and Maritime history, early trade and commerce, early Nova Scotia politics and government (militia).
