Mount Uniacke, Nova Scotia - Evangeline Trail |
Experience a grand country mansion and its parkland setting. Built by Richard John Uniacke for his family almost 200 years ago, the house is an antique-lover's dream, including colonial portraits, fine George Adams furniture, and early Wedgwood china. Nature enthusiasts will enjoy 7 walking trails in a variety distances and terrain, including wooded areas, lakeside, wetlands, and drumlin settings.
Inspired by ideals of the English 'park' estate, this site is an excellent representation of Georgian architecture. Containing original period furnishings and ceramics, the home provides a glimpse into upper-class lifestyles of the period, as well as early politics and government in Nova Scotia.
